CBD Genetic Test

What can your DNA tell you about cannabis?

A cannabis product that works for one person may not always work for you. This is because of everyone’s unique genetic make-up, which reacts differently to various strains and cannabinoids. This test assesses your genetic predisposition and provides a detailed report that shows the right cannabis strains and products to help with your health and wellness issues.

Cannabis has two active chemicals with medicinal properties - cannabidiol (CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). Cannabis is used to alleviate chronic pain, lessen tremors caused by Parkinson’s disease, manage nausea and anxiety, and even weight loss. Pathway Genomics offers a saliva-based genetic test that helps you determine the best CBD:THC ratio along with recommendations for the best strains and products for you.

Our CBD/THC DNA test will help you make better informed choices that are supported by scientific research.

Now you can feel more comfortable deciding how to use Cannabis as your Personal Medicine.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) oil is a product that’s derived from cannabis. It’s a type of cannabinoid, which are the chemicals naturally found in marijuana plants. Even though it comes from marijuana plants, CBD doesn’t create a “high” effect or any form of intoxication — that’s caused by another cannabinoid, known as THC.

What is THC?

Official name Delta(9)-Tetrahydrocannabinol (trans-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), THC is marijuana's most famous cannabinoid as a result of its unique psychoactive effects. We currently know of more than 100 cannabinoids to exist in only in marijuana plants, and THC is what's responsible for the cerebral, euphoric “high” associated with consuming pot.

The first step to understanding THC is to understand cannabinoids. Cannabinoids are chemical compounds found in the cannabis plant that interact with receptors in the brain and body to create various effects. There exist dozens, and potentially more than 100, cannabinoids in the cannabis plant, but THC is most widely known among these due to its abundance and euphoric attributes.

CBD Genetic Test

  • Our CBD DNA Test analyzes 13 genetic markers to give you a personalized wellness report showing your ideal CBD and THC products.

GeneTest4u analyzes an individual’s genetic signature with a proprietary algorithm that calculates the predisposition for health conditions that are directly modulated by cannabis. The test also features information concerning how an individual metabolizes cannabinoids, which affects their cannabis experience.

    • DNA and its Relationship to Individual Cannabis Response

Your genes play a large role in determining how your body and nervous system react to cannabis. Many cannabis components belong to a class of molecules known as cannabinoids, while others belong to a molecular class known as terpenes. THC and CBD, the two most abundant cannabinoids, mediate their physiological effects through a cellular signaling pathway known as Endocannabinoid System (ECS). The ECS, which is depicted in the figure below, plays a prominent role in a number of physiological systems and biological processes, including metabolism, appetite, pain, sleep, mood, learning and memory, cardiovascular function, gastrointestinal function, the immune system, and neural development.
